About Little Button Bakery
Creating Contemporary Award Winning Wedding Cakes in the north west Since 2012
The person behind the business
Kate Tynan - OWNER & Creator
Hi, I’m Kate and Little Button Bakery is my business. I live in Marple with my husband, two children and our pet sausage dogs and silkie chickens. I created Little Button Bakery in 2012 after starting a family and not wishing to go back to my previous career as a primary school teacher.
I have always loved baking and being creative and set up Little Button Bakery when my children were young as a way to continue working around my family. I wanted to establish a business that I would be able to build up slowly until I could devote more time to it once my children went to school full time.
Little Button Bakery now has a firmly established place in the North West wedding industry and over the years I have won numerous awards for my wedding cakes. My work has also featured in many high profile wedding magazines and wedding blogs. I absolutely love what I do and it is fantastic to be recognised for my work in such a fast paced and highly competitive industry.
I am exceptionally passionate about wedding cakes and strive for excellence and perfection in everything I do. I aim to make the whole process of booking and choosing a wedding cake as straightforward and enjoyable as possible - you can be assured you will be in safe hands! I do run the business completely single handed; from designing and making cakes, to delivering orders, answering emails and managing social media so when you book Little Button Bakery for your cake, it will be me and only me you deal with which I hope adds the ‘personal touch’.
My favourite cakes to make are those that are modern and a little ‘outside the box’. I love hexagon shaped tiers, tall tiers, geometric patterns, metallic leaf and adding a splash of colour. Wedding cakes don’t have to be white! I also really enjoy using and arranging flowers on my cakes particularly fresh or dried flowers.
I hope to chat to you soon about your wedding cake.
My ethos and ethics
Kate Tynan (she/her)
Little Button Bakery owner
I would like to start out by saying, that I am inclusive to all couples. Love has no labels, limits, race, gender or colour. I value honesty, integrity, friendliness, kindness and respect. That’s how I try to live my life and run my business.
Beyond anything, I want to provide you with outstanding service and an exceptional product. I personally appreciate, admire and review businesses that give their customers great service. Those that go out of their way to help or to do something over and above to make the client journey memorable. That is what I aim for in my business too.
I have pledged to ‘The Ethical Move’. I will be transparent and honest with my clients, I will not use manipulative marketing techniques and my prices will never be ‘charm prices’.

As well as excellent service, I believe strongly in using high quality, higher welfare and locally sourced products in my cakes and bakes. I source a lot of my dairy produce from a farm less than 10 miles away - Hopewall Farm. Anything they don’t produce themselves is sourced from within the North West. All of my eggs are organic from ‘Old Bell Farm’ (the owner of the farm owns my local fish shop) as the welfare and life of organic hens is much better.
All of my chocolate is Belgian and my fondant icing comes from Switzerland. All of my flour and sugar is British.
As of April 2021, for every order I receive over £50, I will plant one tree with More Trees which will offset 0.3 tonne of carbon. Every little helps!
My promises to you:
Excellent customer service
Prompt responses to emails and enquiries
Inclusivity and equality
Honesty and integrity
High quality ingredients and finished products
Locally sourced dairy produce in your cakes
Only organic eggs in your cakes
To plant a tree for every order over £50 I make with ‘More Trees’
If you care about getting a cake that looks amazing, tastes even better and you are mindful of food miles and locally sourced produce in the food you eat, I may be the right lady for you!
